This is a picture of the Pottawatomie County Fair Pavilion shortly after being built in 1921. Wasn't it beautiful? The octagon-shaped Pavilion was originally used for all judged entries at the Annual County Fair. The octagon displayed food, clothing, quilts, handiwork, and agricultural products. In 2001 the nonprofit "Friends of the Fair Pavilion" was formed to preserve this landmark. Our accomplishments to date include:
Restoration of the Pavilion is ready to begin but is going to cost considerably more than the amount received from the first Heritage Grant. We are now in the process of applying for another Heritage Trust Grant and we need YOUR HELP in raising the matching funds of $18,000. Levels of Tax-Deductible Investments
